 Because we are a traditional company with 300 years of history, we have in base the thought to discover new things by taking lessons from the past, emphasizing the importance of products quality and subtle details, and have lined up many functional and beautiful “tools for living” based on household and lifestyle.

 We think it is important that a tool should not be made just for practical use, but that you should feel good when you’re using them and it should eventually become a tool you long for.

 As we focus on “Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten’s” original items, many of which are made of natural materials such as linen, cotton and wood, where as “Yu Nakagawa” and “kisara” has line up of items to decorate your living , and excellent practical products from all around Japan.
 Original items include kitchen cloths made of Nara’s specialty, kaya (mosquito net) fabric, a tote bag made of Kurashiki hanpu (sail cloths), both of where these materials were originally used for different purposes but once again has been revived to fit contemporary lifestyle.
 Our selected items, include Nanbu Tekki (Nanbu Ironware), donabe (earthenware pot) and porcelain enamel (vitreous enamel), all of which will show its improvement as you continue use and we enhance tools of those sort, to introduce its fascinating ways.

 At Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, we propose a Japanese way of living courteously, and the great feeling of making the tools as your one-and-only by mastering them, an exclusive characteristic found only in Japanese tools.

 This tote bag was planned and produced together with "good design company", carefully designing each small details, using sail cloths of Kurashiki, a producing region of domestic sail cloths, made tough for heavy-duty, with double layered bottom, in Japanese colors, and a simple design suitable for both men and women.

Ramie Kitchen Cloth (kitchen cloth in stripes)

 This is a kitchen cloth made of ramie fabric woven by shuttle loom of Nara's weaving factory.
 The design has been taken from a striped pattern of Edo era called "Kanatoshi".
 It absorbs well, dries quick, durable, and can enjoy the gradual change of softness as you continue use.

Household Goods Made Of Yoshino Woods

 We have made household goods with Yoshino Wood, a well-known high class architectural material, to widely appeal its familiarity.
 You can enjoy the fine growth rings of Yoshino cedar, and the beautiful luster of Hinoki (Japanese cypress), which becomes enriched over time.
